Extravaganza

Extravaganza
Splash splash went the water on the slide
Then we went scoot scoot we went bang crash I fell on the floor
The wickets went bang on the ground and then beep went the car
It was time to go home

Sams Extravaganza Poem

Extravaganza Poem
Beep Beep off we ran to win some activities.
Swish off we ran to guess correct colours of the cones.
Thud Thud Thud we walked down to our second activity
Bang one drop ball, our second activity is touch
Beep Beep the horn went everyone separated into their schools
Munch Crunch went the food
Now it was time to go outside to get wet
Beep Beep the car horn went
Zooom they weaved through the poles
Scooped up the water and slide back down
Splash the water went in the bucket
Now it was my  turn I zoomed up through the poles
I filled up the cup
SPLASH the bucket of water got poured on top of me as I was sliding down
Then Click Miss Lamb took a photo of me as I zoomed down
The water was everywhere
Then Boom my team captain just poured another bucket of water on me
Beep Beep now it was time to go back to school I was devastated

Brrrrrrrrrm Brrrrrrrrm we drove into the distance

Poem About Extravaganza

Splish Splash

Dash down the slide
Hurry up until we collide
Beep Beep went the car horn
Next activity I had no negativity just positivity
Zooom Zooom pulling the tyre racing across the grass

We came second but at least we didn't come last.

Zoe's Poem About Extravaganza

My poem about Extravaganza

Vroom Vroom we're in the car,
on the way to Extravaganza.
Zip Zip to all of our activities,
With all my negativities.
Grunt Grunt, Tug Tug on the rope, Splish Splash, oh no someone fell in.
But oh well we got that win.
Now it's the end,

Have a good weekend.

SWIMMING 16/10/2017

SWIMMING 16/10/2017

Last week we went swimming, it was awesome because I hadn’t been swimming in ages.
Once we arrived we rushed inside. We had to wait for everyone, after they arrived we took off our shoes and socks and went into the appropriate changing room for us. We changed into our togs. We had to wait for everyone before we hopped in the water then we got sorted out into groups. I was with Miss Lamb. “carefully slip in, ok guys could you do freestyle” Miss Lamb kindly said as we started to swim. This basically happened the whole week. We also did breaststroke and backstroke. On Thursday the same thing happened but there was a slight switch for 10 minutes I was with someone else. I was doing different swimming skills.

Swimming Disaster

One day I went To The Balclutha Pool, because it was a hot summer day.

The people I went with were my family like my sisters Jessica,  Rebecca, and my parents. I knew it would be a good day because I loved to do freestyle, but when we arrived my parents realised I forgot my togs so me and my family walked to the car to get them. but when we tried to get the car started it didn't budge so we had to call a mechanic to fix the car. The mechanic said that the engine was busted so he towed our car and took it to our car fixing shop. Because the engine didn't want to work we couldn't go home and get my togs I had to swim in my shorts. One hour later we got out of the pool and got dressed but when I got into the dressing rooms I wrapped two brown towels around my torso to keep warm and dry. After I put my shoes and socks on we waited twenty-five minutes, and the mechanic came back with our car. He said that the engine was fixed so we drove home on that hot summer day.

What Swimming Is

Swimming is a sport that you do in water. There are different types of strokes in swimming that you can swim many lengths of. Most towns and Cities have a swimming pool.  At a pool you can swim lengths. There are different sized lengths like the one in Balclutha is 25 meters. There are 4 strokes and they are called Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle. Backstroke is the only stroke that you are on your back. For swimming you wear Togs and dry yourself with a towel, and  you can use A swimming cap, Goggles and fins some of these help you swim. You can swim in any open water place at any time, but if it’s at a pool you have to go in between the trading hours. You can go swimming anywhere at anytime like one week at school we had swimming it was fun we learnt new things and how to do them. In our group we did 4 different strokes.

Swimming Week Term 4 - Akmal

Swimming:

On the first week of our term, we went for a swimming lesson, it was the second time swimming for the year. I was not that excited the fact that it was coming up, my togs were left in Oamaru in my house. So I had to use unused togs in our house in Balclutha. Most people used swimming bags but all I used was a plastic bag.

I was happy that we didn’t have to walk to the swimming pool like how I did in Rosebank, but that is besides the point. When we arrived we always have to put our togs on. Some people were smart enough to put them under their clothes before they arrived. For me, that was the annoying part, the changing.

As it turned out later, it was not as bad as I thought. It was fine. Sometimes we have to switch pools, in the intermediate pool to the small swimming pool, or even the other way round. The first day at swimming, I had to work with Tipene and Warrick.

We were with a person called Sharon and we were taught to freestyle and switch into floating on our back. First day I was struggling but later on I got better and better, I was happier than before. But a side effect happened where I was exhausted on Tuesday, something happened and I think the swimming caused it.

After that I was okay with my backstroke and I was better than the last time we were here. I enjoyed swimming pretty much, although I thought it was gonna be bad and boring and not fun, but I wouldn’t do it all the time still.

This writing is about Swimming week in Term 4, what we did and a bit of what I did.

My Experience At School Swimming

My Experience At School Swimming

The first day of swimming we went and did freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke to see what we could do and see what we needed to work on. We had a couple of mistakes and before we got changed  did a couple of dives into the pool. Then we had to focus on that and then we went to go get changed.

The second day of swimming we were working on backstroke, freestyle and breastroke again and that's when it all came together and we had to work on it till we got it right, we did dives again and it was better than the first day. Well that's what I thought. Then we went to get changed again.

The third day we did a few lengths of backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke  then we did some dolphin dives and practised the butterfly arms, then we did dives and say who could go the furthest. Then we got changed again.

The fourth day we did more lengths of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, then we practice the butterfly kick and and then we did it all together, it was hard. We did dives again and who could go the furthest again. Then we got out.

The last day we did 800 metres of lengths and did some butter fly and it was fun and hard. It took a long time to get the rhythm of it. We did dives and a who can hold their breath the longest and Mrs G did not like that, when we got out and dressed and drove to the park for a picnic.

My Experience At Swimming On The First Day Of Term 4

My experience at swimming. When we started swimming on the first day back of term 4 I was nervous but when we got in and started swimming I was okay. My favourite part was doing lengths in backstroke. I liked swimming because you could just have fun and excitement for most people. My group had to do 4 lengths in any style so I did freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and backstroke again. I liked diving at the deep end because it was deeper and not so shallow. My group started off doing widths then we went on to lengths and diving. When we started lengths you had to try not to stop.
